Well - the latest market figures from the BIS are shown below. As you can see these seem to show that the derivatives market has been remarkably resilient during the second half of 2007 - overall volume growth has slowed, but still rose 15% during the period. The two figures that jumped out at me were the real decline in equity derivatives and the continued strength of the credit derivative - not surprising I guess given the prevailing conditions:
